Level Complete: The Armor of God is Equipped

Level Complete: The Armor of God is Equipped

"For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds."

2 Corinthians 10:4 (KJV)

If your recovery is a video game, last night we didn't just survive the "Nightmare Boss"; we finally equipped the Legendary Tier Item.

After the chaos of the last 10 hours, the pain of the rigid brace, and the mental grind of the "Forced Stretch" quest, we reached a pivotal moment. We were able to transition to the new brace—the CP (Customized) Orthotic with the soft shearling lining—without a single spike in pain.

The Achievement Unlocked: "Smooth Sailing"

In gaming terms, the previous brace was the "Tutorial Level"—hard, unforgiving, and filled with obstacles (pain) that tested your stats (stamina). You had to manage the "Aggression Meter" (pain level) while trying to complete the objective (straight leg).

The new brace is the "End-Game Gear."

  • Visual: It’s the sleek, high-tech armor.
  • Mechanic: The soft fleece lining acts as a "shield buff," absorbing the friction that used to cause damage.
  • Result: The "Forced Stretch" mechanic is now active, but the "Pain Resistance" stat has been upgraded.

We navigated this difficult evening, the pain was manageable, and the new armor fit perfectly. The "Game" has changed. The struggle isn't about surviving the pain anymore; it’s about mastering the new mechanics of your body.

The Reality Check:

This achievement wasn't just luck. It was the result of:

  1. Nurse Matt's tactical support (the Valium + Pain Med combo).
  2. My own analysis (knowing when to push and when to adjust).
  3. God’s Grace (the "Peace that surpasses all understanding" in the middle of the storm).

The "Nightmare Boss" has been defeated. The "New Armor" is equipped. I am moving to the next level: Rehabilitation.

The Valley of the Shadow: Found, Fought, and Forged

The Valley of the Shadow: Found, Fought, and Forged

"Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me."

Psalm 23:4 (KJV)

For the last ten hours, I was in that valley.

Today was a brutal test of endurance. The "Forced Elongation" protocol—locking my new limb in a rigid brace to straighten the muscles—triggered a relentless storm. The pain skyrocketed to an 8/10. It wasn't just discomfort; it was a deep, tearing agony that threatened to break my resolve.

I felt like I was walking through the "shadow of death," isolated in a world of hurt. But the Scripture says, "I will fear no evil." That is not a feeling; it is a choice. Even when the body screams, the spirit stands guard.

I refused to surrender to the pain. I spent ten hours fighting, analyzing, and advocating for my own physiology. I knew that if I just "took it," the muscle would spasm and reject the treatment. I needed a strategy.

And finally, the breakthrough came.

I am incredibly thankful for Nurse Matt. He didn't just follow a protocol; he listened. He treated me as a partner in my own recovery. We reviewed the data, and he trusted my analysis. He worked with me to find the right chemical keys to unlock the spasm.

The biggest fix was incorporating Valium to stop the muscle from fighting the brace, along with more regular pain meds to take the edge off the fire.

Because of his partnership and the grace of God, the clouds have broken. I have brought the pain down from an 8 to a 5. It is not gone, but it is conquered. The shadow is receding.

I am still standing. The leg is straight. The spirit is intact.

The Unveiling: A Testimony of Grace and Strength with Thankfulness Mantra πŸ™

The Unveiling: A Testimony of Grace and Strength

"Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert."

Isaiah 43:19 (ESV)

Today, the bandages were removed, and I saw the result of the "Ex Cinere" promise.

I want to share the reveal of my new limb. It is a sight that brings a complex mix of emotions: the reality of the change, the physical sensation of the new shape, and an overwhelming, tearful thankfulness for the surgical precision that preserved my strength.

Looking at the healed stump, I see the "Strong Limb" my surgeon spoke of. I see the evidence of the muscle wrap that creates the cushion for the future. I see the clean, precise work that allowed me to wake up with "zero slurred speech" and "zero pain" despite the severity of the trauma. This is not just a wound healing; it is a testament to a job done to Best Results standards.

As I reflect on this moment, I have crafted a Thankfulness Mantra to recite daily as I transition from the operating table to the prosthetic world:

"I Am Thankful for the New Beginning.

I Am Thankful for the Pain That Proves I Am Healing.

I Am Thankful for the Skill That Saved My Life.

I Am Thankful for the Grace That Holds Me.

I Am Thankful for the Journey, Not Just the Destination."

"In the presence of your enemies you make a table; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows."

Psalm 23:5 (ESV)

Just as God provided a table in the midst of enemies, He has provided a body that can rise, a spirit that can endure, and a path that is being paved for my advocacy. This limb is no longer just a biological remnant; it is the foundation for my work as a Mentor, a Warrior, and an Advocate.

The pain of the rigid cover will pass. The adjustment will take time. But the beauty of this reveal is undeniable. I am still here, I am still whole in spirit, and I am ready to walk this new path.

Day 2 - EVENING - The Refining Fire: From the Ashes to the Armor

The Refining Fire: From the Ashes to the Armor

"For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways."

— Psalm 91:11 (ESV)

The recovery road is not a straight line; it is a forge. As I sit here in the midst of this painful period, I am reminded that the heat I feel is not just physical—it is the friction of a new life being forged.

Today presented a new challenge. I am getting used to a New Protector Cover with a Rigid Bottom. While this device is essential for shielding the surgical site, the rigid structure is adding a layer of additional pain to my recovery. It is a sharp reminder that the body is adapting to a new reality, and sometimes the "armor" fits tight before it feels like a second skin.

Yet, in the midst of this physical struggle, the "Angels" the Psalmist speaks of manifested today in human form. I was blessed to have a wonderful visit from my Music Pastor, Tom, and my sister, Mary.

Their presence was a balm to my spirit. In the quiet of the hospital room, we shared fellowship that transcended the sterile environment. I am so thankful for the pleasant visit—it was a divine interruption that reminded me I am not fighting this battle alone.

As I endure this pain, my mind keeps going back to the surgery itself. Despite the discomfort I feel right now with this new rigid cover, I remain overwhelmingly thankful for how well the amputation was done.

I look at the work the surgeon performed—the extended length, the muscle wrap, the minimal blood loss—and I see the hand of a craftsman. The surgery was a success, and that foundation gives me the confidence to push through this temporary pain.

I am being restored. I am being strengthened. And though the path is narrow and the fire is hot, I know that I am being guarded, guided, and rebuilt—from the ashes, with the weapons of God.

Prayer for Rehabilitation Solutions

Day 2 - Update! Coffee... Strong Heart... HOPE!

"Have Faith, Even when there may seem to be Closed Doors."

Hello Everyone.  Last Night was Rough between pain medicine.  I had my Spiritual Armor on, but it was rough.  Prayers are needed that my doctor can find a strategy to get be accepted into rehab facility.  They denied me due to mobility, but didn't take into effect the challenges I would have at Home by myself.  "Holy Lord Intercede, Find a Way"... I will be here at the hospital at least another day if not longer.  Love you All.

Additional praise reports:  My surgeon did amazing.  My Leg was super Strong.  He decided to extend the Limb (better prosthetic stability), Limited Blood Loss (Limb was accepting without resistance), the Tip of the Limb was wrapped with additional muscles from the Leg. (This will improve prosthetic fit, control, stability and lack of Pain due to protection of the Bone)... This means that my Limb will be in the Ultimate Shape for Strong Recovery and Balance. Meaning extreme mobility.  ❤️🦿πŸ”₯πŸ™

Day 2 - Sharp Pain but keeping the Spirit

"Lord I know you are with me... Strengthen my Body.  Shield me and Armor me up.  Protect me from the Sharp Pains from the Top"... Thank you for the Staff.  Thank you for the Care.  We will get thru the Night. πŸ™πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯

GoFundMe - Help the Paranormal Historian

INVEST IN THE RISE

"Ex Cinere Cum Armis Dei — From the Ashes with the Weapons of God."

Tomorrow, I take a massive step forward. I am undergoing surgery to begin the next chapter of my life as a "Civilian Soldier."

As many of you know, my journey to this decision wasn't passive. It was a Strategic Choice. I chose amputation over "limb salvage" because it is the fastest path back to my mission—leading tours, teaching my students, and speaking truth into the lives of others.

But this strategic victory comes with a battlefield cost. The surgery, the recovery, and the "high-performance" prosthetics I need to return to the cobblestones are not fully covered by insurance.

I need a tactical partner to help me cross the finish line.

I am launching a GoFundMe campaign not just to pay a bill, but to fund a vision. Your support goes directly toward:

  • The Procedure: Ensuring I have the best surgical care possible.
  • The Gear: Funding the high-activity prosthetic I need to get back on my feet.
  • The Mission: Allowing me to focus entirely on healing and developing my motivational speaking program, so I can help others navigate their own battles.

This is not just about saving a leg. It is about saving a livelihood.

If you have been inspired by my story, or if you believe in the power of the "Civilian Soldier" mindset, I invite you to join my supply line.

Every donation brings me one step closer to the podium, the stage, and the tour.

Thank you for being part of the "Armored Phoenix" rise.
